The journey began at a challenging point, with the practice facing the very real possibility of having to close its doors due to a lack of patients and practitioners. Michelle was involved in the process of helping rebuild and grow the practice, contributing to the development of its services, systems, relationships and operational foundations and supporting its evolution into a thriving multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Michelle was deeply involved throughout the entire development journey — from concept planning and design through to construction, fit-out, operational setup and service delivery. Working closely with designers, contractors and the wider team, she contributed to the practical development of the facility and spent many hours creating bespoke items, furnishings and decorative elements that helped make the environment both welcoming and functional.

Her experience extends well beyond the physical development of a practice. Michelle has embraced opportunities to support and drive business growth through strategic marketing, data analysis, industry benchmarking, relationship building, process improvement, operational planning and the development of efficient systems and procedures. She has worked closely with clinicians, sole practitioners and business owners, gaining a genuine understanding of the challenges involved in building, rebuilding and growing successful healthcare businesses.

Michelle’s passion for creating practical solutions also extends beyond healthcare. During five years as a boarding House Supervisor, she recognised how little practical information was available for young people preparing to start boarding school. Seeing an opportunity to make that transition easier and less daunting, she wrote Bits About Boarding School — a practical resource designed to provide young people with useful information, reassurance, and insight into what to expect when starting boarding school.
